If you could have lunch with some one you admired and still miss who would it be and why?
I'd pick late Tim Russert for sentimental reasons, he was always so proud of where he came from,born and raised in our hometown,Buffalo,NY.He was a huge fan of our pro football team,Buffalo Bills,every chance he could would cheer the team on
He was the moderator of NBC's long running Sunday talk show'Meet The Press',very prepared,asking his guests tough questions.In my opinion the show hasn't been the same without him.The present host,Chuck Todd is okay,but he always looks like he rather be doing something else
I would tell Tim how proud he would be of his son Luke,who was NBC's Capitol Hill reporter until he left the network 2 yrs ago
It boggles my mind he's been gone 10yrs Sue
 

I totally agree with having lunch with Tim Russert. I also really like David Gregory. But for the most part it would be Barack and Michelle Obama. I can't express how much I miss them in the oval office. I felt safe and good then. I'm just speaking sincerely for myself. For others feeling differently, I am not arguing with that. We can only feel the way we feel. That's all.
 

Sir William Wallace (Braveheart) or St. Teresa of Avila. Wonder how many other people have been called but who didn't step up. Those are two who did! :love_heart:
 
As long as we're talking about people who have passed, my paternal grandfather or my maternal great-grandmother. If you're talking about people who are still alive Willie Nelson, Gordon Lightfoot Guy Clark, another brilliant songwriter. Oops, Guy Clark died about a year ago.

I also really admire and respect this couple a LOT.
They are a class act. Both of them. Even their children had regular jobs just like any other kid.
I miss them too. I also wish I knew my grandparents. That would have been nice.

Of all the nameless character actors, I see him as king.
He stole the show for me many times.
One movie, of little note, was The Ballad of Cable Hogue.
The movie itself was lightly entertaining, but I so enjoyed his despicablity in it, of which became a comedic joy for me.

I guess, mostly I’d have liked to see if he really was that character, or just a wonderfully talented actor.

Like many others, I'd choose my all time favorite president and first lady, the Obamas. Since we'll be sharing a meal, I'd like Anthony Bourdain to be present, too. If the Colonel will let him come, I'd like Elvis to round out our little foursome...
 
Back when we were both younger I would have liked to have shared a day or two of deep sea fishing, a meal or two, a few rum & cokes and a good Cuban cigar with Fidel Castro......leaving his politics out of it, for some reason there was just something about the man that always impressed me.
