Headache!!!

I find that for me a little regular coffee seems to get rid of a headache as well as anything else. Now, I'm not counting the headache I get from not having my morning coffee!

Dammit! I've had a headache for days, now, after reading this. Talk about the power of suggestion!

Niacin (vitamin B3) is an inexpensive supplement that can help get rid of headaches. It will give many people a temporary red flush, itchy, warm feeling, but that passes after 10 minutes or so. I thinks its effect on the small blood vessels is what helps with the headache.

I don't get them often, but years back I took a 100 mg cap of Niacin, and sure enough the headache quickly left. You can't use the non-flushing "niacinimide", as that doesn't work for headaches.

I take a B-50 daily only, as I heard that anything higher just leaves the body through the urine, and can't be absorbed all at once.

I rarely get a headache. It's always been a tension headache or associated with fever and flu. I take Tylenol and I'm good in about 10 minutes.

I've had a couple of friends who suffered with migraines. And, I do mean suffer.

I take B complex with C every day, too, and I hardly ever get headaches. I can see where niacin would help with a headache, because it certainly does dilate the blood vessels, and capillaries . I hate the niacin flush, but it seems like it is worse if I take them on an empty stomach. Maybe they dissolve slower when you have eaten something , so the effect is not as strong all at once.
When I do get a headache, it seems like nothing really makes it go away, and it has to just work its way through. Sometimes, if I take a nap, that seems to help it, and when I wake up, it is gone.

I used to get two kinds of headaches: those that settled between my eyes, and those that settled in the back of my skull.

The between-my-eyes-headaches completely disappeared when I stopped drinking dark colas, like Pepsi, RC, Coca-Cola. I can drink Mt. Dew just fine but, the same amount of any dark cola will have me reaching for the Excedrin.

The back-of-my-head heachaches completely disappeared (many years later), after I finally found a very good chiropractor<-- they are not all created equal, be it human or animal. He was also able to decrease my vertigo by about 85% from an accident I had had.

I will still pass out if I look directly upward for too long, at least I don't pass out immediately and can once again clean the paddle fans without having to drag an 8 foot step ladder thru the house.

Had a monster for a few days that hurt like hell. I'm pretty sure it was tension from new stupid boss. Why oh why do the stupid take charge? Finally, resolved (headache not stupidity) but if I think about it much longer . . .
