Heading to surgery shortly.

Well…my pupil is the size of a dinner plate, I have to wear this ridiculous shield for the next 24 hours, then every night for a week, and the sheer number of drops I have to put in my eye 1-4 times a day rivals grains of sand on the beach!!

But I’m done and everything went well!!Thank you for sending love my way! ❤️

Time to take care of the glaucoma issue I was diagnosed with last year so I’m heading to surgery this morning for that and while I’m there they’ll also address the cataracts that are beginning to form. In two weeks I’ll get the other eye operated on.

Please send healing vibes, good mojo, thoughts and prayers, whatever your thing, that the surgeon has a steady hand and everything goes without a hitch! 🙏👀
Hoping all goes well Ronni. Sending love, light and healing thoughts your way....hugs. 💙

Late to see this second post Ronni, so happy things went well. Take care. 🌷

Wanted to keep a record of my progress so I have a frame of reference when they do the other eye in two weeks.

Slept most of the day yesterday, a reaction to the sedation. I was awake for the procedure, but the Versed sedation always makes me drowsy after.

After surgery yesterday: Because my pupil was so dilated, everything was unnaturally bright, almost neon depending on what I was looking at. Things were also very fuzzy, certainly worse vision than before the surgery. No pain.

In the follow up post op call from the doctors office yesterday afternoon I was told this is all perfectly normal, that my vision will slowly level out but it will take several days.

This morning that unnaturally bright effect is gone, my pupil looks to be the same size as its mate, though I notice that there is still a difference in brightness between my eyes. It’s subtle, but there in the right eye.

I’m also noticing a slight…flicker I guess? Hard to describe. A faint flicker when I move my eye in certain ways. Still trying to figure out what triggers it.

Heading to see the doc in a little while for the 24 hour post op visit. I’ll go over everything with him then.

Good Luck.
You got this. All will go well and your eyes will be better than they have been for years.
Not challenging you @Bretrick, but here’s the thing; my cataracts aren’t yet severe. My doc says that I’m 5-10 years away from a level of severity that would mandate the pressing need for lens replacement. But because of the urgency of the glaucoma surgery, he suggested, and I agreed, that we may as well do the cataract surgery too, because it was going to be necessary at a later point.

All that to say that I don’t expect a dramatic change in my vision because my cataracts aren’t yet severe. Don’t get me wrong, if there IS a dramatic change I certainly won’t complain 🤣 but that’s not my expectation.

Round two. I’m heading to surgery this morning for my left eye.

Grumpy because I haven’t had coffee and I can’t eat breakfast. Well…I could have plain black coffee but eeew. 😣

I’ll have to use store bought readers for the next couple three weeks until I can get new prescription glasses because my current ones won’t be of much use once the second eye is done. I was already closing the good eye so I could see more clearly through my glasses with the undone eye. 🤣

Please send positive vibes that this surgery goes as flawlessly as the last one! 🙏❤️
