The drug store called, said a prescription was ready for pick up.

So I go there , it is my water pill . The girl rings it up & says .66 [sixty-six] cents. for a 30 day supply! So I asked how much my Ins, entered into that ?......she said 34.34 !....I never picked up just one , so I never realized the price difference.

This one seems to be over the top. @ the retail price ....talk about profit!

IMO it's like the sticker price on a car, nobody pays full price.

My insulin pens have a usual and customary price of over $700.00 for a thirty day supply and I currently pay $30.00, when I go on Medicare that will increase to $47.00.

I have no idea how much it really costs or what the profit might be.

I am on Medicare/PPO this year... I take Imitrex for migraines. Without insurance it can be $350-400 / 9ct tablets... with my insurance about $40 and I can use up all 9 tablets in one month.

I can still remember clearly when an HR person said " you did get that thru the insurance plan?"
I replied: Huh?
What would we do if we had to pay Doctors and Meds cash?! (shudder)
