Healthier Snacks

I started getting these Harvest Snaps at the nearby grocers that has some healthier foods and snacks than the other grocers. I got these especially because they are low in sodium. The carbs content is not extremely high but can be cut in half if you only eat half of the portion size.

I've gotten this one and the White Cheddar and the Wasabi Ranch so far.

I like them. I like to munch on crunchy snacks so this is good. I also have berries for snacks at times too.

Do you have any healthier snack recommendations?
 

whole raw almonds and sunflower seeds. for the sunflower seeds I usually end up with roasted with no salt as that is what is on local shelves. I buy the almonds and black walnuts from Hammons for delivery.
I have tried the raw almonds but have chipped a tooth on them years ago, so aimed for roasted almonds. However, because I love nuts, I tend to overeat, so have to be careful because of the high fat content.

I love the idea that they come from lentils! I have even bought pasta made from lentils. I will have to try these some time. :)

I have not had them in ages...but used to buy them often. I will have to get them again some time.

It Is very easy to overeat nuts. I know I've done it. I don't buy pecans very often but love them so much I will eat too many. I usually get raw walnuts now. I don't like them as much but they have important nutrients.

Does the lentil pasta really taste ok? I've noticed that they're making pasta from almost anything these days.

Actually, the lentil pasta has a thicker texture than the semolina pasta. It doesn't sink in my stomach and sit there after eating it, like the wheat pasta. It's become my favorite pasta. It usually is a penne pasta form.

All of the choices mentioned here sound so good. I have trouble with portion control because I have piggy in my DNA so I can't have any snacks in the house.
In the winter I allow myself marshmallows and cocoa, in that order.
I sometimes have portion control problems but I have been getting better at it since I got diabetes. I try to get more nutritious foods-I find I'm less likely to eat too much of certain foods and So I try to have more of that around. It's challenging but it's been getting better. Of course I allow myself some food that I love too at times. Then back to the grindstone...😊

I guess we all do what we feel we should for ourselves and we're all different that way.

Starting now, stollen is also a snack, until the Christmas season is over. I've seen it for $35 a loaf, but that's not as bad as the German chocolate cake I saw for $80. This was at online stores. I can make all that stuff myself, and hey, it's *a lot* cheaper.

Not only cheaper to make your own, but healthier and no preservatives :)

I also have walnuts and cherry tomatoes as snacks and part of salads, too. I don't know what stollen is. If it's in a loaf, is it a bread?
 
Smucker’s natural peanut butter on whole grain toast or half an English muffin with a small glass of almond milk.

Mandarins

A tablespoon of dark chocolate baking chips.

Salt and pepper pistachios

A bowl of cereal with almond milk.

Hard boiled eggs. I don’t really like them but they fill me up.

Atkins peanut butter cups. Not particularly healthy, but very tasty.😊

I usually get the natural peanut butter, too.
