The inexpensive ones are just amplifiers. They are not adjusted to your hearing loss But, they are better than nothing. I have a pair of ones that have been programmed to my hearing loss in each ear. My right ear has a more profound loss than the left.does any one know if those inexpensive hearing aids that you buy on line really work
I must mention that my hearing is so good that Bowmore calls me Lassie. "What is it Lassie?" he says and I stare at him to let him know Timmy is in the well. The inexpensive ones are just amplifiers. My first hearing aids from Costco are 3 years old, but not happy with them. I'd like to order new ones online. Can I ask where you purchased your wife's? Thanks, PappyMy wife’s expensive ones were nothing but a pain in the arse the day she bought them. Digital, self adjusting piece of $2500 junk. Last month, I bought a pair online and she loves them. They were $699 but twice the hearing aid as the last ones. Remember though, each persons hearing is different. They may not work for everyone.

Are they any good? That's the issue. I won't buy any. All the people I know don't like theirs.I am sorry, Phoenix, but hearing aids have come down tremendously in price. I recently bought a pair of Phonak aids that were programmed to my hearing loss profile for $3500 for the pair. That includes 3 years of follow up
Please read my edited post. I am sorry that I had to add more to it. I do not know where the people you know bought theirs, but unless they are programmable and adjusted by an audiologist, they would be useless. Are they any good? That's the issue. I won't buy any. The people I know purchased them through audiologists. They did it responsibly. I'm glad it works for you. Please read my edited post. I am sorry that I had to add more to it.
