Hearing Fatigue

I wear Bi Lateral Hearing Aids but still have a Profound Hearing Loss of 70%. I find that I get tired periodically during the day and evening from straining to hear either TV or conversation and have to take out the hearing aids and take a brief nap. Of course my age might have something to do with that as well.:D

Well, if a nap helps then that is probably the best thing for you then. I know it's hard straining to hear. I have some problems with it too but not as much as you.

I'm a bit mutton lately
im straining to hear also
come to think of it my parents
went mutton at about my age
my kids and grandchildren tell
me they can hear the tv from the street lol
maybe I'll get a hearing test

It might have something to do with your hearing, but next time I would mention it when you see the doc. Naps are good, I take naps when I need them. If I had to do without my glasses for an extended period of time, I bet I would find myself getting easily tired if I were straining my eyes. That kind of makes sense.

I have some concern about hearing lately. I fear that hearing aids would be very annoying as well as very expensive. My mother was deaf as a post and my older sister is losing her hearing.

I thought the same thing, Manatee, but the behind the ear types are very comfortable., and easy to get use to. Pricy, yes, but I'm fortunate to get mine through the VA.
