Hell on Earth WW II

Don't wish to labor war necessarily - this has been more anti-war to me. It is a TV documentary of that title - the best I have ever seen and I've seen a few. I watched it in Oz on a channel known as SBS - Special Broadcasting Services - but this will be an internationally available item I am sure. It truly encompasses ALL aspects - the human tragedies ; pains and sufferings ' political maneuverings ; and the final defeat of what many and I agree with the "evil side" of humanity towards its own kind.

This is quite a long series but well worth the watch as it explores the political dimensions of USA/RUSSIA/UK/JAPAN/SE ASIA/JAPAN/GERMANY/ITALY - this truly was a WW with what can only be regarded from my biased views as 'the democratic free thinking world against the tyranny of autocracies" with little thought of human good and sanctifying of the greater human spirit. During the observations of many tragedies and obscene acts it did make me ask the question " where was God in all of this?" Ps: and yes it does finish with what some consider has forever been the greatest atrocity of human kind "the dropping of atomic bombs"

The question of why God didn't intercede during World War II is a complex one, with various theological and philosophical perspectives. One common explanation is that God's actions, including his choices about intervention, are often inscrutable to humans, and he may have a greater plan that humans cannot fully comprehend. Additionally, some believe that God allows suffering as a test of faith, as part of a larger process of human development, or to allow for the free will of humans.

yep agreed!

I was once give a old type mini tape - where was god in the extermination camps? - I wished I'd kept it - he didn't seem to favor them much as I recall - but I don't do it full justice - the person who gave it was an old friend and colleague - a Jewish man

he doesn't seem to be an all controlling God which many have attested??

I am having a bad day. I don’t understand your comment. I think I know what you are referring to, but further explanation is needed.

well I think sometimes he/she seems to control and other times he/she just says " go for it -and the report back??"" {I don't believe he continually is jumping in and fixing things right??}

Sounds interesting! Thank you.

I have no deep understanding of Gods intentions, actions or direction. I do know that there were Christians, believers on both side of the fence. I do realize that the two basic adversaries were equally matched. I do understand that our intentions were much different then the axes. I do understand and believe that the holocaust resulted in the creation of Israel as a state.
Was WWII necessary? I would say yes. The suffering and heartache, the lose..................only God knows why.

We are all above our pay grade in understanding. We know what the teacher reveals to us. Nothing more!

Just my opinion.

Why is God even brought into this? Humans are endowed with free thought and actions. If one is wired in a manner such as a Hitler, Mussolini, and so many before these men as well, then all hell will break loose eventually if those of us aren't paying close attention. Our Congress knew full well what was going on in Germany in the 30s, yet refused to raise much of a hand to help our European neighbors.

That Lend Lease Program and the pitiful ships we sent England's way was not enough at all. I have friends who made it through the Blitz and I marvel at their ability to even discuss it today. I also have friends who survived the Holocaust, and that too is a miracle as far as I am concerned.

That war was every man's war, and 58 countries on both sides were involved. The loss of military and civilian lives is too difficult to even begin to count.

I hope all of today's young people watch this series. There is so much to be learned from it.

Because the Germans could have won. They didn't , why? Luck of the draw? Try that when you pick numbers for a lottery ticket.
Free thought and actions come from where? human decisions? So either God was in charged or we hit a lucky streak. Really think that humans are master minds? They were kicking our ass in the pacific and then a pby found the fleet. Happen chance? Changed the world.

I agree with your thoughts. I don't agree with your conclusions
