Hello everyone, Thx here, pronounced "thcks".

Nice to be here!

I have actually been looking for a forum like this for some time. I did a Google search: "friendly forums" and looked at a few posts and decided to join up. :)

Like many here I am retired, semi-retired actually, but getting closer to full retirement all the time, almost there.

I enjoy playing guitar and classic movies and television for hobbies and had been an electronic tech and machinist for much of my working career, but have a small business now that almost runs itself.

So, looking forward to posting here, I am brand new to this forum, but have been a member of several forums for years now and hopefully won't be too much of a nuisance newbie, and thank you in advance for your replies!

Thx :)

:welcome: Welcome Thx, from Savannah, Tn.... Where are you from? My hubby was a machinist for 32 yrs. then moved on to work for a small town in Maine, then we retired and moved to Tenn. Much more affordable to live here and no more harsh winters and snow to shovel either!, whoo Hoo!
I know you will like it here.. Look around and join in.. Some nice friendly folks here from all parts of the world.

Thank you each for your welcomes!

I'm originally from Southern California @tinytn but moved up here to Seattle in 1991 and have never looked back!

Hopefully, within the next year I will be moving to my retirement property at Hood Canal WA., right next to the Olympic Forest.

I miss machining and might take it back up as a hobby after I get situated at my new place.

Thx :)

Love your photo Thx, Washington is very beautiful, we plan to do some camping there in the distant future. Closest so far as been in Oregon, we love it on the coast.

Thank you! Yes, the Oregon Coast is very popular, all those cliffs along the beaches, I believe they have nicer beaches than we do here in Washington.

My place is about a half mile from the canal where you can see Orca, and I'm only a few hundred feet from the edge of the forest.

I'm looking forward to a very simple existence, taking the dog out and gathering up deadfall for our home fires and adding some extra fire breaking to the perimeter of the neighborhood.

I will have to get a good dog from the pound when I get out there.

I'd like to see how "off-grid" I can get and hope to collect my own water, filter it and water my garden of raised and covered, mercury-free produce...

Might be the only mercury-free produce in the state.

Thx :)

Sounds good, I like the simple pure life and the outdoors...good for the body and soul. :D

I've certainly had my fill of the "rat race" you know, and am definitely looking forward to the serenity of the forest!

Off-gridding it might be a little rough at first, but I am making preparations for it now.

Thx :)

Thank you for the additional welcomes folks, nice to meet you!

Thx :)
