Hello SeniorForum posters. My name is Dave and I hail fro Sydney. My interests are reading, different sports and just gabbing to people. I'm a retired teacher. I am fascinated by Forensic science and watch a lot of true crime shows- much to my wife's chagrin. not much else to say accept thanks for having me on board and I'll try and not confuse you with too much Aussie lingo. Fair dinkum, I'm being ridgy didge when i say that. thanks again.

Hello Saint Dave from Down Under. Welcome from me and look forward to getting to know you ☺

Welcome Dave! My gf loves true crime shows and "how to murder your mate" books. Needless to say, I'm always on my toes when it comes to our daily interactions. After almost fifteen years, I guess I'm keeping her pretty happy, because I'm around to type this in!

Enjoy yourself, in here. We're a pretty friendly bunch!

Australia, US, UK. We cover the map. Thank you for the greetings good people. My wife does get a bit antsy when I'm watching shows about marriages gone wrong!!! It's been an amazing bush fire season. We're used to them, but not to this magnitude. We've still got some incredibly hot weather to face and fires will follow. There's been plenty of finger pointing and scoffing, but it's basically down to nature at its most brutal. Thanks again for the welcome.

Welcome SaintDave.

We have several Australian members here, and if I'm not wrong I believe one of those is an ex teacher from Sydney , so you may find yourself chatting to an ex colleague... :D

So long as I'm not chatting to myself, holly and thank you for the warm greeting. Austin and Dallas. Wow!!! Hello to you all. I am a Cowboys fan, but what a fade out to end the season.

Welcome from the far northeastern USA, Dave.

Yes, and many friends from Canada here as well. I don't recall ever meeting anyone here from New Zealand - the other major English speaking country in Oceana. Not sure why that is.

Hi, Dave! Welcome from Canada. I lived in Adelaide for many years, but never did get to Sydney, to my great regret. Make yourself at home, lots of good people from all over the world here.

Hi saintdave, I, too, have been a fan of the true crime shows. I used to binge watch them so much that I scared the begeebers out of myself!
Nice to meet you...

Welcome from central Florida.

I visited Sydney many years ago and fell in love with it although I usually dislike big cities. I was a hotel guest on an upper floor of the Masonic Lodge right downtown for a couple of weeks and walked much of the city. Took in several events at the Opera House but some days just walked there and sat on stairs to people watch. Good memories.

Welcome @saintdave I live in South Oz and we are experiencing major bushfires in Flinders Chase on Kangaroo Island
As the crow flies we are not far from the K.I. fires and consequently lots of smoke
I have been through 2 bushfires in my life on the mainland and do not wish to repeat them
Welcome here you will enjoy yourself 🤗

Thank you one and all for a knockout, warm welcome, Good people all round. I taught in Adelaide for several years. Love the Nunga colours. I was involved with many Nunga kids from the west of Adelaide. Also did some work with Major Sumner at the Sobriety group.

Don't worry about confusing the North Americans. There are several of us who have introduced them to English as she is spoken in the land downunder. Just avoid politics at all times and you will get on fine on this forum. There is something to interest just about everybody.

I also hail from the Emerald City, am a retired chalkie, and have a scientific bent. I've been a a forum member for more years than I can remember so I feel entitled to welcome you to Seniors Forum.

Cheers, Warrigal. Love your moniker. Fellow chalky, eh. I retired several years ago and don't really miss it all that much. Did some private tutoring for a time. Now I work for a couple of charities. I enjoy helping people. I'm a Parramatta boy- I was telling people about that 48.9c day at Penrith just recently. Sorry outsiders if I'm gabbing a bit here, but the fingers fly faster than the brain.

I'm in a direct line south of you - Panania which is a suburb of Bankstown. We both qualify as Westies, I suppose, but I choose to reject such appellations.

No worries about being a bit gabby. Introductions is a good place to reveal yourself.
