:welcome:from Savannah, Tn.. Rierie.. my sister lives in Kalamazoo ,Mi.. its a very lovely state.. seen any of those beautiful barn quilts?
My hubby and I volunteer at a big dog wildlife facility here and we walk several of the dogs they rescue almost every day.. and we don't even own a dog.. we have 2 cats.. never have we owned a dog.. lol. we just love to walk and talk to them.. Bless your heart for doing what you do...

That's so wonderful that you walk the dogs! I love rescue animals!
I have two cats also. A feral and one somebody dropped off on my road. Poor baby is declawed all around.
She almost died on me twice once I found her.
 
Rierie, my list of MI places I've lived: Wyandotte Hospital for birth ;) Southgate before it was Southgate, Plymouth, Canton Township, Detroit, St. Ignace.
 
My husband is returning today, from a week long camping trip. I must admit, it's pretty lonely out here. The corn waves at you, but it can't talk. ��
 
My parents retired to a house on ten acres in the middle of farmland but only stayed about two years. Too long of a drive to the hospital. It's very peaceful where we are but we do have close neighbours.
 
Not being close to hospitals bothers me too. I'm hoping once my husband's 17 year old adopted daughter, leaves home, we can sell this house and move closer to town.
 
My grandparents on my father's side lived in Perry. We didn't get there much, but I've recently found their gravesite, and have cleaned it up.
my grandmother on my mother's side came from Czechoslovokia.
 
Sadly, I don't have very many relatives left. A few cousins in the area, and of course my two grown sons.
My husband's family is very large, in fact that's who he was camping with this past week.
I'm not a camper. If I'm going on a vacation, I want a comfortable bed, and a bathtub! :)

Many of mine are gone as well.

I don't do camping either!
