Hello From New York State

Paladin1950

Still love 50's & 60's music!
Greetings from upstate New York! Over the years, when I was a member of an internet forum, I usually used "Paladin" as a user name, or a combination of the word and other letters or numbers. I got the name from my 2nd favorite TV western series, Have Gun, Will Travel (1957-1963). I'm 72, but look and feel younger. Probably because along with Social Security, I'm still working. A part time job in a nursing home. I have been working in nursing homes (2 of them) since 1996. So needless to say, every day at work, I have to wear a mask. So of course, I got my 3 Covid shots. I have always liked working at nursing homes, although sometimes, the residents who are not always elderly, are sometimes younger than me. The elderly can be hysterically funny at times. They love to laugh also. So I make it a point to make them laugh everyday. Well, I guess that is all for now. Once again hello from upstate New York!

Welcome, from Toronto. Your user name is familiar to me .. I used to frequent a few other forums, though not for quite some time now. I hope you will find topics of interest, and join in on the conversations.

Hi!
Me? A big fan of "Lonesome Dove" and "Gunsmoke".
Why on Earth would anyone live in NYC when they could live in "The West"?
(joking)

Hi Paladin from a former Upstater , stuck in the desert southwest. I loved Have Gun Will Travel! Richard BoonešŸ˜. One of the cable channels is carrying it here in reruns and I watch it if it at a convenient time. So kind of you to try to bring cheer to the nursing home residents! A friend of many years who is in an Assisted Living residence up there keeps me informed about NY state doings as well as WNYT.COM .

Upstate New York is most definitely not NYC.....we are more rural and less citified. That's like saying that Albuquerque is what New Mexico is all about. I'm sure it has more cactus plants than busy street corners.:)

So nice to see another upstate New Yorker join the group. We are a smiling and happy group for the most part. There will be many topics to choose from, so mosey on up to the threads and join right in.

I lived in New York City (Manhattan and Brooklyn) in the 70's and 80's, for about 15 years. But since then, it's been Central New York (Mohawk Valley).
