Hello everyone! This place looks like it contains a treasure trove of information! It will take some time to digest it all.
I live in Phoenix AZ (soooo nice now - sorry east coasters.... ;-( Originally from SE Pennsylvania, I sure don't miss the kind of weather you're having there now! I've actually lived in a lot of places and have driven across the country about 8 times. PA to MD (teacher) then to CA (hubby's job) and back and forth quite a few times between the east coast and west coast (VA, FL, NC, PA). In CA we mostly lived in Huntington Beach, which was Great! (this was in the 70s/80s). Somehow ended up in AZ and love it (well, maybe not July and Aug so much). Also spent a couple of years in Portland, OR, until the rain finally got to us. We've been here in Phx for about 18 years now.
I was hoping to find some discussion here about new cars but haven't seen anything yet (early days. Specifically, I was looking for a new car without the airplane cockpit environment. I don't need/want all those bells and whistles the young love to play with. I think it's a lost cause though. I guess car companies can't compete without all that stuff. I don't like the thought of buying used - get other people's problems (and maybe flooded cars from all the hurricanes the past year). Guess I'll keep my 2000 Le Sabre with its 180,000 miles on it as long as possible! (sure wish they still made that car -- great car! What a mistake; you see them everywhere, at least here in Phx.)
Anyway, glad to be here and looking forward to diving into all the great info here.
