Hello from SF bay area

Hey @MarkD , welcome!

We've had some very interesting discussion of religion here, maybe you can restart that. We have the full range of people here, with a wide range of beliefs. Most are willing to openly and rationally discuss.

I have an idea for a thread with a religious theme but have no idea how to start one or where to put it.

@hollydolly suggested if I needed help there might be some knowledgeable folk around who could help.

Certainly... just tell us what you need help with.. and one of us will be able to help

For a religious themed thread.. go to.. General discussions... here.. start a thread..and title it with your religious heading..

Hold the phone I think I just figured it out. I’d it posted?

Welcome MarkD! I think you`ll enjoy spending time here.

I am a California/Bay Area native. Grew up in San Bruno.

Thanks. In my early twenties I lived on Carlton Ave, one of the streets making up that heart shaped block near the train tracks. I graduated from South San Francisco high though. How about you and where did you end up?

I know "the heart" very well! Went to many dances at the Girl Scout House there in the mid-60s.I graduated from Capuchino but my husband was a "South City boy" until his senior year when he transferred to Cap. Or rather he was from South City, but went to El Camino.

After we gotmarried,we kept moving on down the Peninsula-San Mateo,Foster City, then Woodside. Then in 1991,we moved to Lakeport in Lake County.Commuted to San Bruno for 18 years though,as we owned an auto body shop on El Camino. Finally sold it in 2010.

Last year decided to make a big change and moved to Idaho.Still don`t really feel at home here though-miss Lakeport terribly....

You’ve been busy. I’ll bet your winters there are competitive with anywhere in the lower 48.

I only went to South City two years but graduated there. My parents moved to Southern California at that point. My three year first marriage included two places in San Bruno before we bought a small house in the Sharp Park neighborhood of Pacifica (below the castle). My second marriage will be at 40 years next September if we can both keep from buying the ranch before then.

Good luck to you in Idaho. I wonder how close your place in Lake county was to Lucern. My aunt and uncle had a summer place there and a ski boat. Oh yeah, I had a girlfriend who lived in Cupertino when I was living in Oakland in the early 80’s. Great lady.

Our place in Lakeport was about ten minutes from Lucerne.Nowadays,Lucerne is pretty drug infested.Lots of old resorts that rent for cheap so they attract the less than desirable tenants.

Not sure if the Cupertino comment was to me or another poster who said he lived there at one time-or did you think I went to Cupertino? I went to Capuchino,in San Bruno.Lots of people used to confuse the two-not sure if you did lol. Cupertino is down closer to San Jose...

Ooos indeed I did mix that up. Sorry.

My cousin who inherited their cabin in Lucern after numerous break ins it seemed she spent more time repairing damage than enjoying the place. My youngest brother, his kids and I paid it one last visit when my cousin’s mother (my mother’s sister) came out to visit some time ago from South Carolina. So many fleeing the high cost of living And/or the crowds here.
