Hello I’m Roseanne and I’m new here. Not sure if I posted this correctly.

Hi Roseanne!

Hi Roseanne! You'll find many threads here that will give you ideas of what seniors do that keep themselves busy. If you like to read you could ask your library if they know of any local book clubs to join.

Check out this Calendar of Events: http://www.hotsprings.org/events/?page=2 especially the Tai-Chi on Nov. 16th at the Garden Woodlands Welcome Center from 1:30-2:30. It's free if you're a member of the Oaklawn Center on Aging. Lots of holiday events coming up too.

And don't miss the FREE Big Band Holiday Concert on Nov. 18th also at Garden Woodlands at 6pm!!!
Here's a sample of their music. I want to marry one of these guys.
Wouldn't you love to live with this music in your home all the time? What happiness....pure bliss
(it keeps stopping but just click on the arrow when it does)

Indoor: I love to do a little container gardening on my deck and I've enjoyed crossword puzzles, jumble, jeopardy, "Who wants to be a Millionaire" show, NOVA on PBS, reading, art, cooking, and church activities (haven't done that in a year but miss it a lot).

Outdoor: Are you able to get out and about? Your area has a lot of outdoor opportunities like fishing, hiking trails with scenic views, biking, and picnicking. In particular is the Hot Springs Nat'l Park with classic style bath houses, spas to enjoy purifying waters, shops, cafes, and trails to enjoy. Do you have a senior center nearby? If so, I'm sure they have lots of things to do there and trips to go on as a group.

I recently took up pickle ball by just hitting against the backboard (with a goal to be good enough to play against others) but I overdid it a bit so I'm babying my knee for a while. We just have to go easy at first when we're seniors and listen to our bodies. I used to swim but decided to exchange that time for hikes and walks with Bella instead so we could share the exercise...she wants it and I need it. We take day trips...often to the beach :) You're close to lake beaches!

Welcome, Roseanne, from Pennsylvania! Click on "What's New" (today's posts) at the top of the page and find a thread that interests you. You'll do fine, here.:eek:nthego:

Welcome Roseanne from Georgia! I have been retired for 1-1/2 years and sometimes I feel a little displaced but then I think of all the projects I dreamed about getting done when I was working and did not have the time. What did you do before you retired? What are your interests?
