This is my first time in a forum understandably there may be a few glitches. My question is what do you think makes you feel old if you do or what makes you feel young?

Welcome from Scotland, Drobe! I am 64 but feel young because I'm healthy and workout so am physically fit. I feel old when I look in the mirror! :)

Hello Drobe, I'm 71, I don't feel old but sometimes out of touch because of all the electronic gizmos out there today. Half the time I have no idea what my kids are talking about. The Grand kids want toys I never heard of. They visited recently and the 5 year old asked if I have an X box, I asked him if he wanted to play with Lincoln logs, He had the same expression on his face as I did when he asked for the X box.

Aloha and E Komo Mai from the Big Island of Hawaii. Riding my Harley makes me feel young. As for feeling old, see what Ameriscot said.

Hello and welcome Drobe !
I try to stay up with the latest in technology so I don't feel old that way. However, I do feel old when I watch documentaries about the 60's and 70's and they are considered "historical" documentaries. Sometimes it's hard for me to comprehend that the 60's were 50 years ago :)

Hi Drobe,
Welcome from Pa! What makes me feel old? Well, it's usually when I wake up in the morning, feeling "stiff" and achy, but after about fifteen minutes, I'm good! Feel younger after I get through exercising.

Welcome Drobe and I hope you enjoy our community! I feel young by getting lots of exercise daily, eating healthy, and always being open to learning something new. I stay current with technology because it's interesting, read voraciously, and refuse to give in to expected elder behavior or living with fear. I think it's everything about attitude, and the rest flows from that.

When it was suggested to my grandmother at age 85 that she might want to live in a retirement community instead of alone in her home, her reaction was, "... and live with all those old people??" She died a few years back at age 106. Quite an inspiration for me.

I want to add something else. What made me feel older was dealing with the schedule and stress of working in a high pressure job environment for far too long. Now that I'm pretty much retired, I feel light and energized by being on my own schedule and no stress. I marvel at how wonderful this feels and am thankful daily to be able to retire early.
