After a good look, decided to join up to discuss issues facing us all (non-political, mind). I'm about 7 months away from retirement and getting both excited and anxious about the prospects. Curious to see how others have tackled the first days/weeks/months of retirement.

I live just outside St. Louis, Missouri, and as my username indicates, I'm a cat lover (dogs are great, too, but I love felines best). Love to hear from anyone about anything. Interests include fishing, playing music, photography, puttering around the house and garden, reading, so on and so forth.

Oh, and thanks to whoever started this site, it looks like a great place!

I'd wake up, listen to the neighbor's cars warming up
Giggle my hind end off
Snuggle back in to sweet slumber
Eventually get up, quite refreshed, and do whatever I want, whenever I want...all....day...long

That was five years ago
Things have yet to change

Welcome to forum paradise, CatGuy
I don't usually welcome new folks (there's plenty enough here that take good care of that) but felt compelled to answer yer query

Welcome!!

We are early Baby Boomers, born in 1948/wife and 1949/me. I was in the Navy for a few years, onboard a ship in San Diego. During my teen years, I was a involved with a hog farm in Indiana. I know a lot about livestock, farming and some about ranching. I am an amateur photographer who does mountain wildlife, professional rodeo action, scenery and zoo. I'm a former drummer for Classic Rock music. We also love the mid-80's thru 2000 Country music. Also into Motown music and some Oldies. Have a 20' 1992 Celebrity Cuddy Cabin boat that we use for cruising local lakes and trout fishing.

After spending 1 year in North Carolina (north of Charlotte) and 10 1/2 years in northeastern Florida (Jacksonville) returned to Colorado (northern) last year. Even with the winter right now, love being back!

Welcome, CatGuy and fellow cat lover! I love ALL animals, but cats are my totem animals. I have 14 of them, indoor, ages 3-12 years old. This is a great forum, especially for us seniors, you will love it here, hope you stay for a long time.
