62, transgender woman. Just joined today, and looking forward to this experience, and communicating with others who understand the process of aging and issues that we seniors face as time goes on. Retired in 2018 at 56, hoping to rock n' roll for the rest of my time, unfortunately it hasn't been that easy for me
. Once a healthy, energetic, apple-cheeked bouncing bunny, I would work out in my gym, go running, biking, walking, hiking, doing all the things that are perceived to be healthy. Hang out with a few friends here and there, cook out, eat out, play music in my band or with other bands, attend track meets....However, in the last 10 years I have been slowed down by health issues beyond my control, recently impaired vision in my right eye.
Where once I had friends to talk to about things, now most of them have died, and most were still in good physical and mental conditions. Parents are gone...and I feel as if I have been forgotten by many I helped along the way, be it with music, or health and fitness. Feeling strangely alone, adrift now in a world that I don't know anymore. Life has gotten scarier and so has this world. Hoping to ride the storm out for many more years, and sometimes hoping against hope. Rindee

HI PeppermintPatty, so nice to meet you here! I am a bass guitarist and have played live and, in the studio, (session musician). That's awesome you sing and play multiple instruments! I can also play keys, because in beginning music education in elementary school, we had to learn pitch identification on piano.

Welcome @Rindee . Lots of good people here. I can play the radio. ;)

Thank you so much, so nice to meet you here! Radio, what's that? LOL jk! I swear, I have not listened to the radio in forever. Now back in the 70s-80s, oh yes, radio rocked! If you remember the very first video to air on MTV, "Video killed the radio star" by the Buggles, how true that is to this very day lol!

Retired guitarist here. Welcome

Thank you and hello guitar man so nice to meet you here! I still jam bass occasionally, if'n I can find anyone my age to jam to the music I know lol! I went to Guitar Center, took my niece to sign up for drum lessons, and while waiting I plugged in and just played some blues progressions...a guy behind me began jammin' his axe to what I was playing, and he was good! We jammed a few ZZ Top, CCR songs, then it was time for me to go. We exchanged info and talked about getting a band together....I never heard from him though. :(

Welcome to the forum! I'm in Toronto. Whereabouts do you hail from? I think you will find topics of interest here. The best part of the forum, is, it's international.
