Hello to everyone

I'm new to the forum. I'm 71 years old and I too have felt the loneliness of retirement. I have come here hoping to find new friends where I can spend some time chatting about anything really. Thanks for reading this.

Gear asked about me.....worked for a credit union for over 30 years......I paint military miniatures and read history books for fun and play with my dog who is just a mutt but he's a great dog ..... married but my wife kinda does her thing and she has a lot going on ......I on the other hand have a few friends and we meet for breakfast once a week but I have found retirement very hard to traverse from a loneliness standpoint so I'm being more proactive and trying to find new groups of people to get to know and enjoy.

Thanks to everyone for being so kind and thoughtful. It makes it feel like a warm and friendly place to be!

LOL! I'm from Fairfax Station, Virginia......I have been to Toronto once and it's a beautiful city although I remember your beltway around the town had one heck of a lot of lanes to it......

You wanna talk about a beltway! Not too far from you, Frank, is the only spot on I95 that freezes me up and the beltway is just as bad as the interstate... actually found a long way around it all. Richmond... 😨😨😨 oh my that traffic is dreadful. I don't even mind D.C. as much, but Richmond, no thank you!

LOL! Yes, I've been on that stretch of 95 both through the city and the LONG way around ......the one through the city at rush hour in the dark in winter is a special anxiety test that they must have dreamed up when they built it. At least here in DC in rush hour you're lucky if you go 15MPH but that one in Richmond.....that's crazy for sure!
