Help/Advice needed badly

I agree with Murrmurr totally. He knows I am not into it but he just needs to share his joy.
So I listen and smile and say "That is great, very happy you are pleased!" It's just this year
it is surprising how well they are doing so far so it's quite often he has a report.
It's a temporary thing I will live through it :ROFLMAO: Just a bit comical in a way.

How do I pretend I am thrilled that hubby's beloved Chicago Cubbies have the best record in the league now?
I am not a lover of daily seasonal sports and he is soooooo proud of them and has no one to share his joy with
here in Mo. being a St Louis lovers area.
Lord help me - all he has is me.
It's sooo hard! o_O
Both of you, start getting interested in football (soccer to you) and become Liverpool fans and you'll never walk alone. :ROFLMAO:

As always, you all have been great it was fun seeing some ideas.

I joke around a lot but outside of having a laugh I am a sincere person, I mean what I say from my
heart and with true caring.
He would know if I faked over-excitement for sure. He just wants to be able to share his joy and he'd
do the same for me and has over things he isn't into. Such as my showing him a new creature I Needle Felted.
He's a pretty chill guy, it's just funny to see him so giddy, but don't we all need some giddy something in our life?

Thanks everyone for playing along with me and there was cute ideas!

Thank you. I've asked my wife too and she answered that you should stay honest and tell your hubby the truth. But I think that this was not the answer you wanted to read.
My wife is brutally honest. If she doesn't like something she'll not share it with me. She doesn't like my music, she doesn't like most of my movies, she doesn't like political discussions with me most of the time. Nevertheless next year we're married for 30 years.

Your marriage sounds like mine. He listens to the same 15 year span of music and watches podcasts about them even though he knows
the whole history already. We have different tastes in movies and if not a movie or music podcast it's sports/chess/ politics. Sometimes
opposites are the best route to take for certain people. We lived together for 8 years and got married in 2005 so even in years yours
and mine are pretty close. One just never knows! Congrats @George1959 now I wondered if we each met and married twins to each of us.:ROFLMAO:

Everybody doesnt have to like everything. The husband played football in his youth and watched it on TV very enthusiastically.
I do not care for football. At all. I married him in spite of this and we managed to put up with each other for 51 years.
Dont torture yourself. Let him do his thing and go find something else to do. :D

Thank you! That is exactly what I am going to do, why change now?;)

Ah yes, the game where they run back and forth for 90 minutes, add time to the clock, finish with a 0-0 tie and decide the game with penalty kicks....

I'm glad you came along and posted this, and it's good to know. Until you did, I had the impression it was all one sided. That's the problem with written words - they never show the whole picture.
