Hi, is there anyone out there on the forum who lives in Holland.

I have a son in Holland and I want to arrange to send a Christmas food hamper to him and his family. I have tried online but whats there is not very good, mostly canned and full of alcohol. I need to connect with a local store that would make up an order in his home town which is Emmen, let me pay via Paypal or whatever then have it delivered.

I can and have sent, flowers, fruit baskets and chocolate baskets, I have sent gifts through Amazon but this year I wanted to send regular Chrismas type food etc.

My daughter in law is very ill and my son who is English does all the cooking, money is a bit tight so I want this to be a gift that they can use. A hamoer full of all the things Christmas for England and Holland.

I would appreciate any ideas.

Thank you

All those catalogs with the lovely gift baskets are so overpriced, aren't they? I have been doing my own baking as well as tucking in some store-bought items and mailing them out to friends and family instead. At least they get more than 3 cookies and a fruit cake :) Not sure if you wanted to go to all that work but I'm sure they would appreciate it. Also, if you were shipping from the US, I would suggest that you check with the Post Office to see if there are any restrictions for mailing to that country. I imagine the Canadian Post Office has similar information.

Another thought would be a gift card - possibly a pre-paid Visa or American Express that they could use locally. The language could be a barrier for ordering online so shopping from this far away would be frustrating.

Hi thank you both, I do send other things but I particularly wanted to send the makings of a Chrismas meal.

I spoke to three grocery stores in Emmen but none had any online sales so it was a dead end. However I have found an organic turkey grower in the UK who will deliver so I have ordered a large turkey, need to find a ham now LOL and some other stuff.

Yes, Fortum and Masons are great, I have a couple of things shipped over myself every year but I don't want the overpriced fancy stuff, I need to send a good sized grocery order for this particular shop and to be honest I may want to do it a few times,,stuff happens.

I need to connect with a store in Emmen that might deliver on a regular basis.
