Helping raise grandchildren

Hello, I am not a senior, I am here because my parents, in their 60s, are involved in helping me parent and raise my children. We all love the grandparents here! lol my question is, do any of the grandparents here believe in somewhat old fashioned old school methods of child rearing, mine do, im fine with it because it was how I was raised and think it taught me responsibility.

But was wondering if others did, and how their children feel about it?

On a personal note, I do not try or would try to raise my Grandchildren.
That's just me, if God forbid something happened I would, but I do not interfere with the way my children raise their own.
Same. I'd help if they asked me to, but I'd be a little shocked if they asked that kind of help.

No, I do not believe in or approve of so-called old school methods at all.

Second, similar to what Tish and Murrmurr said, unless they were to do something totally outrageous, I also do not believe in interfering with my adult-aged kids raising their children.

However, it was the topic title that brought me into this thread.
While anyone can be in a difficult situation due to circumstances such as a death, serious illness, job loss, divorce, etc., and need short-term, temporary assistance, the approach you stated as your parents 'helping (you) parent and raise (your) children' is, from my point of view, unacceptable.
I wouldn't be surprised if this generates a lot of flak, but I believe if parents- whether mothers or fathers or couples- consider themselves mature enough to have children, they should 'parent' and 'raise' them themselves.
