I have found everyone very welcoming, and that has gone a long way to dispelling my hesitation in using social media.
It’s nice to read posts written without acronyms and the shorthand of modern youth! Though l have used btw / wtf etc sometimes!

Welcome @Richardxbt! I have an affinity for your area. My parents were from Marion and Rutherfordton, NC and although I grew up in Florida we frequently visited Boone and Blowing Rock. We used to go to Tweetsie Railroad when I was a kid! I've since been back to both as an adult. You are in a beautiful area!

One of the best things about this forum is that we find out how much we have in common with other members.

I’ve been to Marion twice, and found the people l met to be friendly and laid back; you have good connections to NC!
