Here is a one in six million bird

Whilst out and about I spotted a strange looking bird.
It was with a group of Magpies. (a mischief)
I slowly walked over to it, hoping it would not fly away. Getting closer I could see it was a magpie but with more white than black.
What an astonishing bird before me.
Looking up "White Magpie" I learn it is called a Leucistic Magpie, or more correctly, a magpie with reduced pigmentation making the plumage more transparent.
Loo-kiss-tic.

Great photos, you got!!

Wow.

It looks as if it dunked itself in a bucket of white paint, then sunned itself till dry, then carried on. šŸ˜šŸ˜†

Any idea which gender it might be?

Animals can get pretty weird.

We used to have red-brown squirrels. Over time this seemed to "morph" into a lighter shade of brown.

Then we had black squirrels as well. Before too long I saw oddities like black squirrels with blonde tails.

Yesterday I saw a grey squirrel, something we've never had here. But this one seems to exactly match the tree bark color, so much so that when holding still on a tree it almost disappears.

No way to determine the sex of this Magpie.
Difficult at the best of times. Both have reddish-brown eyes and similar black and white patches, except a subtle difference on the white patch on the back of their neck.
On the male the neck patch is all over white, while the female's looks grey-white towards the bottom of the patch

Have you considered sharing some of your pictures on a local news, high school classes or a senior center?

@Bretrick the W.A Flora and Fauna would be interested in the photos you took of the magpie
very rare siting I’d say ..we have magpies by the dozen but I’ve never seen a white one
Willy wagtails attack magpies here …I refer to WW as ā€œbossy bootsā€œ because they are a fraction of the size of Magpies but still try to ā€œruleā€ over larger birds
