I have held an account with Vodafone for the past 12 years. I'm on a 12-month plan and expected the charges to increase at some stage. My son gave me his
Samsung Galaxy because he bought a new phone. All was going well until I decided to ring a friend to find out my outgoing calls were inactive. I then tried ringing
myself from my landline and the phone voice, said, "Your calls cannot be taken". I then went to the Vodafone office and was told all mobile phones are now on 5G. and I have to buy a new phone. He said even the staff hadn't been informed. No wonder they're getting many complaints.

Well, that's a rude kick in the head! :(

Don't know what 5G is, or how it works. But 5G is a new phone technology, and you can't expect an old phone to work with new technology. It's like trying to play your old 45s on a CD player.

Shortly before Tracfone dropped 3G in my area they emailed me and offered me a FREE 4G Samsung smart phone with free shipping. It works fine. I suspect (hope) they'll do the same when 4G goes away.

I thought they would at least have the manners to inform me they were increasing to 5G.
