Hey, how's it going today for you? It's 2023. An alternate thread for different people.

Have had very warm weather up to today, but will be getting caught into the cold front heading east ... expecting a cold and rainy weekend on the Texas Coast.
That's okay, because rain is needed, and above normal temperatures in March isn't a good thing.

Question for @Pecos .... how old is your bichon Lilly? ... asking because I think my Lil'Bear is about the same age?
He's going on 14 yrs., and is showing signs of old age, both mentally and physically.
He still seems to have his energy when he goes outside, but his eating habits have changed ... he eats very little most days. He's lost some weight.
Lilly is just a bit over 14 and is showing signs of age along with the effects of bladder cancer. Her appetite is not what is used to be, and she has also lost some weight. She does perk up a bit when she goes out for her last potty call at night. Somedays she eats everything, and other days she eats noticeably less. LOL. she always saves room for treats.
Mentally, she still appears to be fine, and she continues to be a very affectionate little girl. @JustBonee , @Ruthanne

Well of course they save room for treats! That's the best part of the day for some pets.

Well today I'm somewhat taking it easy. I didn't get a chance to post about all of it in the daily thread but the past week has been a busy one. I’ve shopped at Costco and Dollar Tree. Buying lots of items necessitated making room and rotating stock. I also did a double load of laundry and light cleaning.

I’ve been practicing some of my old songs to refresh my memory and fingering and to get new ideas for their revisions. Tuesday night, after he and my son finished their studio project, I played the song I want Honorary Son #2 to rap on. It’s a sweet song I wrote for my son when he was about 8 years old. It’s sweet but the bridge has a killer beat. He loved it, so we got that collaboration in motion. Tuesday was another momentous day. We finally took those two large garbage bags to the shredder man! They’d been here for months. I promised myself, yet again, that I’ll never let the shredding build up like that again.

Spent time following the steps on YouTube to register and post my first live action music video. This also involved reading the terms, how to’s and other related content. I had to familiarize myself with the menu so I could accomplish what I needed. With every other step there was something extra to do, like verifications, to be able to proceed. It got to be quite time consuming!

I finally decorated the plain paper clip container I was keeping my facial wipes in on the bathroom shelf. It only took a few minutes. After cutting it in half, I used the back of the box insert that comes in the Ferro Rocher 48 box and taped it. I knew I could use those things for something. :D

Yesterday I called Metro PCS to troubleshoot a problem with my phone. All my calls go straight to voicemail and text messages with attachments don’t load. The issue was not fixed. Then later when trying to reconnect the Fios wi-fi to my phone (separate issue), I had problems with that. The Fios issue resolved itself, but under the advice of my youngest grandson (18) and my son, I think I’ll go to the MetroPCS store tomorrow and spring for a new phone. Of course that involves doing the research which means tonight I’ll be spending even more time on phone stuff !

Waitrose doesn't trade this far north. I rarely used it when I lived down south as although it was good, it was very expensive. I use a variety of shops for branded goods, but get fresh meat, fish etc.. from independent shops.
my sister is up north and has morrisons and Proudfoot's

I took a medium length walk, used the blower on the patio and porch, paid a couple of bills, talked to the accountant who is helping me file an amended tax return for 2022 (I didn't initially get all the right forms, she advises that they will be ready for me to mail in on Monday), took the dogs out for multiple potty calls (the older Bichon who has bladder cancer has to go out a lot.) and I did my regular Saturday chores.

It is uncommonly cool today, but we have another freeze warning ahead of us. The last one ruined about half of my Azalea flowers and I suspect the one coming in next week will get the rest.

I have Metro Service too for over a year now. Thanks for posting.

Sorry to hear that Lily has to go out so much and she has lost some weight. How much has she lost? Glad you got your chores done. I've got to clean the kitchen floor and do some cleaning in the bathroom and laundry as always. Thanks for your post.

Lilly has lost about 1 1/2 pounds which is a fair amount for a dog who generally stayed around 14 pounds for most of her life.
She did get pretty playful this afternoon, and she ate her dinner with gusto. Overall, she still enjoys a good life.

I'm so glad she is enjoying her life❤️ That's wonderful! I'm sure you're enjoying her too. She sounds like a little sweetheart!

Another enjoyable Sunday here. Very cold, but sunny, so took an hour drive, had dinner, and back home this evening. Already had two phone calls from girlfriends checking in. Such a relaxing day. Now, I should buckle down and outline a half hour program on "ghostly happenings in our lives" which I volunteered to start in our Senior Center. Hopefully, someone will volunteer another topic for the following week.
Keep the momentum going for renewed interest in our new facility!

Another exciting day NOT! Did sleep until 3pm. Had a english muffin and bacon for breakfast. Just gave myself a really good hot shower in anticipation of clean sheets when I go to bed. Watching new season start on the The Midwife. Cooked a corned beef while I was up last night. All ready for ruebens. I think I will just use a good sharp knife to slice, don't feel like bringing down the big slicer.
May do a grocery pickup or delivery tomorrow. Completely out of milk, need to get some more gatorade and water for the spare fridge. I try it have those for my son and grandson when they are over. I just drink tap water but they like the bottled water.

I had a busy week and am really tired so today stayed in my pjs and did some laundry. Yesterday I went to a funeral of someone my age and it was sad. I enjoy being somewhat busy but last week was more than I prefer. Looking forward to my European vacation in 2 weeks.

You stay active MDB and that's a good thing. I'm sorry one of your fur babies has bladder cancer and that you lost your Azaleas. I thought we were going to get a big freeze but all this severe weather they predicted for the northeast in the last few weeks just passed us by. I'm glad you got your tax situation straightened out.

Got up earlier than usual. Someone was doing loud yardwork for hours. It was on the annoying side and very loud. It has stopped now thankfully. It's supposed to be a little warmer today so that's nice.

I noticed in the mirror just how white and gray my hair has gotten. I was wondering when that would happen. I already had some but it's coming in heavier now. Oh well. I don't know if I'm going to color it again.

I started drinking protein drinks and ordered some more today. They seem to make me feel stronger. That's a good thing.

As predicted, I spent a good amount of time this weekend finding a phone, getting my new phone set up and learning it's features. At home th set up was easier than I thought since Google suggested several apps, some of which I use and did multiple downloads at once in mere seconds. My son, who has a similar phone, helped me with a couple of perplexing things about the various volume controls. But finding the phone and getting it set up at the store was different story. The first Metro store I went too didn't have anywhere near the models I wanted. Luckily I live in a very walkable area and another Metro store was only a couple of blocks away. Since I needed a phone three days before I went shopping for one, I settled on an older model that I intended (the Samsung Galaxy A14), but it's not as old as what the first store had in stock (03's and A10s). I sat there and looked through Amazon reviews before making up my mind because the A14 wasn't one of the ones I added to my notepad app the night before. Once satisfied with the reviews, I got it.

I had deleted some things, including my email, from the old phone because I'm a bit paranoid about what information is kept in their systems after transferring info from one phone to another. Well, that was a mistake! The young lady needed my email to complete the transfer of my photos (I should've known that ! ) and contacts. I tried getting back into my email but when Google sent the verification codes, the sign in screen did not show the field in which to type them (I tried 3 times). The girl tried another way on her system but it wasn't working. I wound up walking back home so I could get the login approval screen on my tablet. I decided I to eat something before going back. After I went back, the girl hit another glitch but that resolved itself in a couple of minutes. I even had to change my password while in the store requiring me to think of yet another password! I called a good friend and asked him to call me back before I left the store, just to make sure the phone rang. At first I didn't hear the call come in, even while I fiddled with what I thought was the volume controls. Turns out the volume is controlled differently than my last phone and I figured it out, so I heard it when he called back.

I had a couple of flutters yesterday, so took it easy. It may have been because I let myself get over tired. The good thing is that I didn't have to cook anything. My son bought eggplant parm (with ziti) dinners from one of the local restaurants on Friday. I ate more of that for lunch (I can eat off their dinners 4 times). For dinner I had the fresh cooked bean soup he made.

@OneEyedDiva Yes, getting a new phone can be traumatic. I moved to a new area that was not served by my old phone company. At the phone store, they said if I wanted to keep my old number I'd have to provide my account number from the old company. I didn't want to go home and look for the info, so I said a new number was fine. Big mistake! A few days later I found myself spending an hour on the phone with Amazon, being treated like a criminal.

The phone store sold me a phone that didn't meet my specifications. I didn't know this until about a month later. Someday I should replace it, but I dread doing so.

I consider today a lucky day! I went for a walk in the woods and climbed over a large Beech tree that had fallen and found myself about tree feet away from a skunk. We eyeballed each other and I knew I had to wait it out so just stayed still. Sensing I wasn't a threat it went back to digging grubs and I slowly moved away. I was sure glad we parted as friends.lol
