Hey!! What the hell are those robots doing in Senior Forum?

I never knew there was a way to see who was online with Senior Forum. I happened to press the wrong box, and there was a listing of all who were online. And half of them were robots. One robot was "reading" someone's home pictures? What the hell were those robots doing in Senior Forum
Out of the list of the first 18 visitors, 9 were robots.
Just click, " current visitors" online".

Bots crawl around all over the 'Net constantly. One reason is probably for search rankings... need a way to send people here when they search for something we've talked about, etc. They're on all websites... we're just able to see them here and can't on other sites. If you pull down that members/current visitors/members, you won't see the bots mixed in with the rest of us.

I don't know anything about them robots but I am a real 78 year old guy that is still breathing and still walking and "sticking around" to see how much crazier the world can get?

I've seen the robots too. I don't know if it helps, but I use incognito mode (or a VPN) when browsing, and whenever possible, I use my laptop instead of my phone. I clear all cookies and browsing history before closing my browser.

I Googled the question "Are robots in a forum malicious" and this is what came up:

AI Overview: "Not all robots in a forum are malicious, but some can be used for malicious purposes, like automated spam, coordinated attacks, or manipulating discussions, depending on how they are programmed and who is controlling them; essentially, the malicious intent lies with the user behind the robot, not the robot itself."

Let's face it, a forum for old people is going to be tame stuff. I doubt many of us are lawless rebels. So, why have half the "visitors" to S. Forum be robots?
And, if you were a respected robot in the robot world, would you associate yourself with those walking, talking water bags.

I don't care if the bots see what I'm doing. Actually, I'd rather have targeted ads than ones that have no relation to anything I'm interested in, so in that respect, they can look at my data all they want.

If I was doing anything that might be considered nefarious by those in power, I would definitely use a VPN and probably a different browser.
