I am 61 living in northern California in Vacaville. Hoping to retire by 65 (when medicare hits - unless I can swing it sooner). Looking for insights on how others have addressed retiring and how did they know they were ready. I drive my wife crazy with a massive spreadsheet trying to cover all our bills, spending, along with future accounting for retirement. I am constantly updating the spredsheet with new scenarios on when we can retire.

So, just checking in and saying "Howdy".

Hi Keedge,
I'm sorry I missed this thread until now. Welcome to the group. You wrote, "Looking for insights on how others have addressed retiring and how did they know they were ready." I quickly became "ready" when a horrible new manager took over the accounting department where I worked  and I said, "that's it for me." Best wishes for your early retirement. It's very wise, keeping up with your spreadsheets and planning.
