Hi and nice to meet everyone

Miss Beach Bum

Drink in hand and toes in the sand.
Location
Maryland, USA
My name is Tracey and I am a 50 year old High School Principal. Never been married and I am here for some chatting and to run a few questions by some of you older and wiser members here. My career started as a High School History Teacher where I worked 17 years and then I moved to administration where I was employed as a Vice Principal of this High School for 7 years and now transferred to the Principal 3 years ago. I look forward to chatting with everyone.

Welcome ! :)

Even though 50 will sound very young to many of us ;)
and will remind us of some younger great times :D
I am sure it is the beginning of looking at some transitions, in life, and hopefully yours will be very gentle and gradual ones.

Congratulations on your valuable and meaningful work career, so far, and on being able to do it for as long as you have been doing it.
It's nice to meet you.

The funny thing is when I looked at this forum I first thought it was a forum for 50 year old people. Then I saw that was the minimum age. :D I have several years left to work and I have no problem with that as I do enjoy my job. I have been single all my life and have had some not so good relationships in the past. I have also watched my mom have to raise me her entire life as a single mom so that has been a factor in getting me down the altar. I have also grown tired of men my own age and want to try something new. Now I am not looking for an online relationship or just money because I have money of my own. I am just looking for a gentlemen who is in their 70's. The problem is I have no clue where to look. I have no problem finding guys going out my own age. I just don't know where to look for these older men. I also don't even know if they would even want a younger women like myself. So those are the questions I have for all of you older and wiser members here. I hope some of you can help me out. Thanks so much for welcoming me.

Personally, I would suggest you choose some community activity that meets regularly, that might have a variety of age grouped adults who participate, such as Habitat, or Genealogy, or a Library or Museum group, or something else.
Perhaps in a neighboring community rather than very close to your work or home.

I suggest choosing something that's a change of pace for you, and that interests you anyway, so you could enjoy it for what it is,
and then, there's also the additional chance of making new friendships of various types.

What about SilverSingles or Match.com or one of those dating sites?

eta---Just found another thread by you where you said "I am also not looking for any online relationship." So I guess my advice, which I wouldn't take myself, won't help you anyway.

Thanks you everyone for the welcomes and responses. Dating sites would be fine if it is a site where you match with a person in your area and correspond with them a few times online and then over the phone and then set up a date. I just don't want to meet someone half way across the country and all we do is text and chat. That is not a relationship at my age.

Couldn't you specify locality?
Yes, I believe I could. I have never used a dating site before and I guess you can be as specific as you want to be. I guess I could even be age specific to what men I seek in a relationship. I guess because I am completely new to the dating app scene it kind of freaks me out. In the past I was just use to going to local dance clubs with my friends and sometimes I would frequent a gentlemen there and on occasion that interaction led to a relationship down the road. The only thing is those relationships never lasted.

"The only thing is those relationships never lasted."

Hmmmm. Depending on his age, going with an Old guy may not last that long either!
That is true. I just know what my mom went through having to raise me as a single mom and she did a wonderful job and worked her butt off. I have gone through several crappy relationships with guys my age and am just done with that. I don't know and I may be wrong about this, but the older man just seems more of a gentlemen. I know there are good eggs and there are bad eggs. I have experience my share of bad eggs so maybe there is a ripe old good egg out there waiting for me. :)

Welcome Miss Beach Bum, I was the same age as you are now when I first started using senior forums.., simply because the option seemed to be FB or forums for youngsters where I couldn't understand the slang terms... so senior forums were an ideal way to talk to people my age and older. In that time, I've moved countries, and retired... and seen a LOT of people come and go... :D

hollydolly, that makes me feel really good. Facebook does not appeal to me because of what you spoke of plus the adds that pop up as well. I have gotten rid of that. I hope this place works for me.
