Hi everyone,
I just joined Senior Forums today. I'm exploring how to be a paid public speaker, focusing on topics for people who are age 55+. I welcome hearing ideas about topics that are important to you.

I'm a retired USAF officer who's worked the last 20 years in human resources and training & development. Currently live in east Central Indiana. Two grown kids.
Thanks,
JerryBen

Welcome to the group.. When I spoke before any group, I just said, ''what the heck are you doing here,''..Everyone would laugh and it relaxed me. Funny thing for me, I was nervous everytime I took the podium. Sorry, most persons here, well speaking for myself ''only'' can't remember what they had for breakfast let alone focus on anything. Good Luck and best wishes in your retirement endeavor, just remember to never stop paddling the canoe. p.s. if you use any of my quotes. I would like a fee. lol

JerryBen,
Taught Speech, Theatre, Writing for decades. Finding paid speaking assignments especially in a smaller city is difficult. I'm sure there is a good Chamber of Commerce in Muncie. Attend a meeting or two. You also said you were in human resources. There is usually a HR group in cities. This is a good place to meet others who might want speaker. Talk to your local Middle and High Schools. Smaller colleges. See what's going on on campus.
