I did the same thing when I retired, I was 40 years old and had been working up to 14 hours a day 7 days a week at times. I retired, and all of a sudden, I had nothing to do. I was bored to tears in a month. So I got a job as a bench tech at a Computer Renaissance store. Since I was forced into retirement in the first place due to my health, it caught up with me and I had to give up the job.
The owner of the store was very understanding and instead of just quitting abruptly, he let me cut my hours two hours a week until I was only working two hours a week. That made it possible to ease into retirement a little slower than I did the first time.
