I got a notification from someone, and it said I could reply. So I did and it was posted here. Now. I'm confused and apparently did not reply to that person and the notification talking about reputation is gone. For Pete sake.

If you get notification on a post and it's just a comment on a certain post, you can't directly reply to that. Those are made by clicking on the star at the bottom left of a post. But if it's in your inbox, you can. It will be private.

And there are lots who are not conservative here but still quite a few who are not.

It was under notifications. Okay, next time I'll look for a star. I replied in the only place I could see to reply, and the notification went away. So when I saw where my reply was listed, I deleted what I wrote here. It was a brief comment of support. If I want my response to be private, do I instead need to send the person a private message?
