Hi! I'm just curious...

I grew up in a southern household on Long Island NY. My father grew up in North Carolina and my mother was born in Memphis Tn but grew up in South Carolina. They met in NY. My wife, kids and I moved south in 1972 and never looked back.

It’s a penninsula… but it IS pretty cool! i’m just a half hour drive from the inner city.
Please educate me. So, the inner city is where? Being on a peninsula is what? I'll tell ya. The folks for whom live in southern California are multi-millionaires. Someone will buy a flip for over 1.3 million (a shoddy house) and I can't get over how the prospective future buyers can afford to pay 2.4 plus in order for the flippers to get a profit. Say the flipper purchased a home for 1.4 million. They have a 400k limit when it comes to renovations. That comes to 1.8 million and sure enough, the buyers are willing to pay 3 million for a flip. Hefty profit. Sorry. I'm just envious. Blah, blah, blah. Thanks.

Maybe you've been asked this a million times before but where are you from? I find it fascinating a lot of you are from all parts of the world. Super neat! Since I don't travel, I look forward to living vicariously through you.
Hi Paulina, one of the counties along the south coast of England is called Dorset. Click on this link and it will take you to a thread that shows you photos and history of the part of the world that I live in.

Born and raised in the Detroit area, but fled there before it got really bad. Spent a ton of years in Germany, saw much of Europe and even in East Germany during Reunification. I've lived in 8 states here in the US, and I'm done moving. They're gonna drag me out of my house in a box.
Weird. My husband was a Coastguardsman for many years. His duty was to pull out dead bodies and oversee drug busts in the roaring sea. Since he was a MAC professional he decided to go with a Chrysler dealership originally from Detroit. He was offered many training schools in Detroit and offered me to go with him as I always wanted to visit Berry Gordy and his musical empire. Well damn. I never got to see Barry Gordy's music studio as Chrysler chose to move out of the area. Such a loss for all Detroit folks and us as well. The whole situation just stinks.

Wow Australia? South at that? I say, "HOW AWESOME!" and don't think about anyone otherwise. I'd love to see it, but we just saw a show about how folks get giant crabs dug way down in the sand and cook them on the spot with a man-made barbie. If you and yours are able to experience that? Enjoy! If you're experiencing any personal problems? We're right there with you. Please don't feel alone. Us (our family) in California are with you. Always.

I am from U.S. but I travel a lot. Interestingly, I often (not always) get the "forbidden" screen when I try to access this site from abroad, even from western Europe. There must be some complicate algorithm in place on this site.

Wow. What a beautiful area. I'm still curious. From the peninsula (of what?) to the inner city. Where is the inner city? Is it Boston? New York city? I don't know. Thanks for educating me. Just still believe your area is absolutely beautiful no matter what!

Born and raised in Northern California(just south of San Francisco),then moved to Lakeport,CA 33 years ago, then moved to Idaho 4 years ago. Not really loving it here-way too crowded after living in Lakeport all those years. Miss the kids, grands and greats as well. But the medical care is better here than Lake County and I need that now so guess I`m stuck...

I’m from right here. This is my community in Baltimore, Maryland.

The thread, Dorset my County has an omission that this penninsula reminded me of.

This is Sandbanks, Dorset's home to one of the world's most expensive real estate markets.
A bungalow sold here recently for £13.5million, that's about £4.5thousand per square foot.
