Hi, I'm Katie, a senior wanting to embrace a more minimalist lifestyle.

I've only recently begun to identify myself as a senior citizen. I still feel young. I desire to embrace a minimalist lifestyle; get rid of lots of stuff, and possible travel a bit. I'm interested in Permaculture design as well as an alternative lifestyle in many ways. I would love to be completely off-grid.

Gardening, making my own herbal medicines, and all skin care and cleaning products keep me busy.

I've been in the Ozarks for 15 years and it is getting close to moving on time. I'm a bit of a gypsy; I like to change locations from time to time.

I'm looking forward to knowing if there are other seniors who have embraced a minimalist lifestyle.

Hi, Katie, and welcome from Rochester, NY. You sound like you will be providing some interesting discussions to the group. Cannot wait to share ideas with you

Welcome from Houston. I am working to live more simply. I am boxing up books, clothes, knick knacks, etc. Only going to keep the things that give me pleasure. Taking sets of dishes to the consignment shop and donating everything I don't need to the Salvation Army as they will schedule a pu if you let them know how much stuff you are donating. Put a lot of things on recycle. I would have a garage sale but I live in a condo and we can't do them here. Told the kids to get what they want and they are doing so.

Welcome, Katie. I'm new to Senior Forums, too.

I often think about minimalism, but I also don't want to give up my things. So, so much for that.

I am really interested in Tiny Houses. I love watching the Tiny Houses shows on TV. Since you're wanting to get more into a minimalist lifestyle and you like to move around, I would think a tiny house would be perfect for you. You can put a lot of them on wheels to take with you. They come in all price ranges.
