This is my first post here. I, personally, have been retired for many years (due to ill health and a disability), however my husband retired recently after working till he was about 69. It hasn't been an easy transition and I'm hoping to find something to inspire me here and give me ideas for us. We both suffered strokes 3 years ago, within two weeks of each other and add to that a major move to be back near one of our sons and we are left with a difficult transition.

I decided to come here as after I finally got him on Facebook, my privacy on there was gone ... he is now into EVERYTHING and EVERY part of EVERY day!! I love him dearly ... but I DO need some space. I'm hoping to find it here!

We have 2 adult sons, both married but no grandchildren, nor do we expect to have any. One son lives in Napa, CA and the other near us. We have a beautiful gray cat named Misty who is about 8 years old.

So that is about it ... hope to see you on the boards.

Hi Mickey, welcome from London England..sorry to hear you and your husband have suffered such poor health recently, but hopefully you'll find a little oasis here with all the nice folks.. :welcome:

Thank you Holly (or is it Hollydolly?). I see you are from London ... our favorite city in the whole world. Hubby was born in Stockton Heath near Chester at the end of the WW2 and came to the US with his English mother and Yank dad a couple years later. London is marvelous ... so much to see and of course we picked the worst time to visit!! We were there on Easter Saturday ... when all the other people in the world seemed to be there too! It was really eye opening ... but we loved it. I'm looking forward to being here right now and having fun!

Welcome, Mickey, from San Diego, CA. I know you'll find some interesting and entertaining conversations on our forum. I like your avatar - so distinctive! :)

Hi everyone ... thanks for all the lovely greetings! I'll be checking different threads and sections out in the coming days ... right now am battling allergies (actually I think I have a LOT of company in that area - LOL) so anyways, I'll be slow getting started. But I'll be around.
