High Heat Across Country This Weekend

During the last 5 years of my career, one of my offices was in Elizabeth, I did field work there and in other Union county locations and covered a clinic at Elizabeth General two mornings a week. I have no plans to go out in that heat either...plus it's supposed to be very humid.
 
o_O I'm in Oregon and we will only get into the 70-degree weather. The hottest day being 78, which will seem very hot to us for this time of year. I really hope I have the energy to finish my garden. I have to fence it in and cover it to keep the squirrels out of it. But if we keep getting heat, I am concerned what I grow will get tough and be unpleasant to eat. For sure I will plant chard instead of lettuce because that does well in any weather.

I am concerned heat may harm much of the produce we depend on. We will get peas but may not want to eat them. 🤮
 
Yep - it's been in the 90s here in Maryland. Years ago, when we lived near DC, I remember 100 degree sweltering weather, and at that time my old car didn't have air conditioning. That's a memory I'll never forget!
 
I went out earlier to do some chores. The Humidity is sky high and within minutes I was sweating. We should see 90+ this afternoon, then a big cold front is due tonight which should drop the temps almost 30 degrees. Next week looks nice and mild on the forecasts...with several chances of rain, before the next heat wave hits.
