They are magnificent birds.
To help them breath at high speed. There nostrils are filled with very fine hairs that slow down the rush of air going into there nostrils.
I once saw one being tested with a speed gun. The gun could not register its speed.
I have also seen them hit a pigeon so hard it knocked of almost all of its feathers.
