Yeah, all this reporting of everything these days...a recent example comes to mind of a famous guy who was caught on Zoom engaging in sexual misconduct and I heard somebody say how terrible it was, it's a slippery slope, what's next with this guy, rape, pedophilia?! Now don't get me wrong, if that ever happened on a Zoom call I was on, I'd be royally ticked off. However, I don't think the universe provides as many slippery slopes as some think, I think if not careful you can start seeing slippery slopes where there aren't any. What I'm seeing more and more of is hilltops, some admittedly disgusting, but hilltops I still don't feel like dying on, not today anyway.

The thing is, nobody really cares. And it sounds like very few if any of us have ever heard of her. If that's the worst thing they can come up with, it must be a slow news day. And it's on the level of schoolyard nastiness; what a surprise!

What's next? Tom Hanks' wife got a parking ticket? One of Dr. Fauci's daughters dropped her mask for a second, when she sneezed and had to blow her nose? Joe Biden's wife once voted for a Republican, 30 years ago? *

* I made these up, just to make a point.

Interestingly, after Alec defended her on Instagram, he then came out as an anti-vaxxer, which really is a serious issue.

If it was a jailable offense, most southerners would have ancestors who spent time there. Enhancing your heritage was a popular pastime years ago.

Genealogy research has changed many a family legend that has been passed down.

My wife is Southern. "Family lore" says she is a descendant of Pocahontas. I thought that was BS but it turns out to be (probably) true.

On the other hand, my wife has never claimed to be French, nor to have affected a fake French accent.

Oh, IDK, sometimes a fake French accent can be fun or useful; like a scene from The Sting I'm thinking of (couldn't find a YT for that exact clip, sorry). :)
