After watching it a few times, it looks like if the guy on the bike had stopped at the intersection, he would have been creamed by the red car sliding sideways. The truck and red car should have slowed down as they approached the intersection, giving them more control to stop or maneuver. Speed kills.

Lucky is RIGHT ! The biker not only walked away from it; he actually JOGGED away. Too bad for the truck driver; he tried to avoid the whole thing.
But, like Meanderer said, both vehicles were going much too fast approaching the intersection.
