Mighty impressive indeed. Did you know that the ship is not the first to carry the name Queen Elizabeth?

Queen Elizabeth, named after Elizabeth I of England, was launched on 16 October 1913, completing in January 1915 during the First World War. While still undergoing testing in the Mediterranean, the ship was sent to the Dardanelles for the Allied attempt to knock the Ottoman Empire out of the war. During the attempted military invasion of the Gallipoli on 25 April, Queen Elizabeth was the flagship for General Sir Ian Hamilton, commander of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.

Wasn't the WW1 armistice signed on this ship? A whole class of ships named after her.

I think the US & UK define the carrying capacity of Aircraft Carriers differently. The US include aicraft kept on the deck, as well as the hanger. Whereas (i think) the UK base it on planes only in the hanger. Technically HMS QE can carry between 60 & 72 aircact depending on configuration.

The MOD say the has a top speed of 25 knots (28.7 mph). But she has also been tracked doing speeds of 32 knots (36.8 mph)
