Holland Mixed Immigrants and Locals in the Same Blocks

They can't be serious ! They've housed a bunch of young male immigrants who as we know that has happened here in the uk ... are only too quick to jump on any female over the age of 12... ..and housed them in the same apartment block as young female students.. and they wonder why there's a problem ?... gerrroutta here.... jeez I thought the Uk councils were stupid.. but this .....takes the biscuit...

I didn't know. It's in the Dutch news too now.

Stek Oost isn't the only mixed-use housing complex where serious incidents regularly occur. Amsterdam has around twenty such complexes. Previous research by Het Parool shows that things are going well at the smaller locations, with residents generally positive. But in the larger complexes, where hundreds of young people live together, things are different.

Fire in Complex

Startblok Riekerhaven was plagued by prostitution, drug dealing, and violence. In November 2022, part of the complex burned down. The suspect was a refugee with mental health issues, whom authorities had been aware of for some time. Due to a lack of evidence, he was ultimately acquitted.

Yeah that's always the case. And people comment at a News site that you may not judge and be sweet to these poor mental health victims, also if they're paedo's or rapists.

There's an asylum centre in my street. Lovely people. Didn't notice. I thought it was a playground and played there with the kids. Bit if there are criminals and dangerous ones they do nothing.

I read that they wanted to quit in 2022 with Stek Oost but Amsterdam wouldn't let them, because 'where else can they go?" And they're surprised that people hate foreigners now.

The U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq is partially responsible for the flood of Syrian refugees to Holland and other countries.

After the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, Syria became a primary destination for Iraqi refugees. Millions of Iraqis fled to Syria, straining its economy and infrastructure -- leading to more unrest.

The power vacuum created after the invasion of Iraq allowed for the rise of the Islamic State, which originated in Iraq and later expanded into Syria, further fueling the violence that forced Syrians to flee.

While Holland didn't participate in the invasion militarily, it did participate logistically and with the occupation.

The old adage chickens are coming home to roost comes to mind.

Yes and it's no problem that they come if they're not dangerous, but we are slimeballs towards criminals. There's one small anti immigrant party that said: Lets send them back if they have more than 6 years jail sentence and even the slimeball christian party voted against it. No you must love your neighbour. Hello the guy in the parable didn't help the robbers.

Sadly, the people who are making these decisions don't have to live with the consequences of what they decided.

Too many of these immigrants have no desire to assimilate & become part of the culture of the country they are in. They don't want to change their ways sadly.
Unfortunately, parts of the U.S. have been the same way.. for multiple generations, not anything new..

I saw a good response on reddit. Translated:

Those percentages are bullshit. That doesn't change the core of the problem.

The point is that they should have done the same with refugees just as they place students based on suitability. Then the percentages wouldn't matter anymore.

I'll tell you how this went. The municipality comes up with this plan and finds a housing association that can implement it. Great, the municipality thinks. Now let's go to the COA (Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers) and see which people we're going to place. Great, thinks the COA, now we can finally get rid of the biggest troublemakers. You can't put them in a terraced house with other families as neighbors; that would quickly cause too much trouble, and those people would complain quickly. No, you know what, we're saddling those students with this problem. They're used to it and won't complain easily, ideal. And so it happens. The result is this shitshow.

This is happening on a larger scale, by the way. Since the mental health care budget has been drastically cut, citizens are being used as therapists. People with disabilities are deliberately placed (sometimes dangerously) in ordinary homes, thinking the community will take care of things. With all the consequences. I speak from experience, having had such a neighbor. Not that it matters, but he was a native Dutchman.

I'm watching that program. They interview these students. It was insane. They hadn't screened them. They walked around with a pole they could beat you with, yelled, were insane, but also friendly people of course. A female student had to be a buddy for a guy who raped her. Completely naive. No warning. You can't even trust a Dutch guy who keeps asking you to go to his room. Let alone a creep like that. Come on. That's insane. I was dumb like that when I went to Israel as a teen with a group. A miracle nothing happened. My parents were also dumb. It's like everyone is dumb. Why didn't her parents or her boyfriend warn her? All totally naive.
And she called the police but had no proof so they did nothing and let the next girl live there with that guy who could stay. Rapist paradise.

"We could turn a blind eye to stabbings, rapes, gang rapes. But when they started threatening our employees, I had bad nights."

That's not dumb. That's evil. They knew it all the first year already cause they checked 36 hours a week. One guy walked around with a 20 cm knife.

Another reddit comment:

In 2020, as housing coordinator for the student union SRVU, I attended the Amsterdam municipality's safety meetings regarding student housing. These meetings were with student housing providers (DUWO, Xior, etc.), universities of applied sciences and universities, aldermen, and the police. Sexual harassment by refugees and other negative signals regarding these types of projects were already being discussed and dismissed by the municipality.

I was really sad when I heard about this, I loved Holland,
I lived over there in 73, building the high voltage towers
by the Juliana Canal, I even learned the Dutch language,
I thought that they were the best organised country in
Europe, except that they had high taxes, now look at it,
it all started, I think, when they allowed the military to
have unions.

Hopefully, they will sort it out.

Mike.
