Holy crap! Programmers better start looking for a new line of work!

Is this part of the reason why so many people are suffering from dementia....we are letting machines do our thinking for us? We already watch too much television, which is bad for our brains. Brain cells atrophy if not used. If this carries on we will be a nation of zombies.
Exactly! Over time people lose their problem solving skills because computers do it for them. People have already lost their creativity. Look at how architecture and interior design and decor has changed since the modern age? Things were more ornamental and beautiful in the past, now everything is just plain squares and rectangles.
Computers tell people everything now. Even doctors only know how to prescribe medicine or run tests the computer tells them to run. Doctors don't even know how to tell if a woman is pregnant anymore without a pregnancy test or ultrasound.
People don't know how to cook a meal anymore without a microwave. GPS tells people which route to take. The smarter the devices are, the dumber people get because you don't have to use your brain. Anything not used atrophies.

I have an old Serif programme for writing websites,
"WebPlus7", there were later ones, but I didn't buy.

The beauty of those programmes was, you wrote
your site as a newsletter, include anything, video or
music, etc., etc., etc.

When you were happy with it, after testing in any and
all search engines, you clicked "Publish" and it will be
turned into code.

I don't know if their modern programmes, "Affinity",
do the same, but they probably do, though I stopped
writing websites a long time ago.

True but it's interesting that crafts are making a comeback. The television shopping channels now include those selling products for crafts, knitting, sewing and card-making. Perhaps people are appreciating home-made items again. Our generation learned these skills in schools, but they don't seem to be taught any more. I think most people enjoy making things, it seems natural to us.

Hawking's biggest warning is about the rise of artificial intelligence:
It will either be the best thing that's ever happened to us, or it will be the worst thing.
If we're not careful, it very well may be the last thing.
Hawking was intelligent enough that he could make up his own formulas or relativity laws, for whatever good that role played in my life, which was zero now that I am old. Any formula or equation that he made was for his own use.
Being 62 in a few weeks, none of this AI or FR will help me succeed with doing anything that I am involved in.

Skynet should serve as a warning to all of us concerning what happens when AI becomes self-aware. 😬😬
