What is Home Energy Audit?

A qualified professional comes to your residence to evaluate where your home's energy
is being wasted and provides information on the most cost effective way(s) to improve the areas.

Sometimes, the local area's energy company offers it's customers a % of the audit cost along with rebate(s) for qualifying upgrades.

Have you had an energy audit?
Was it worth it?

I didn't have an energy audit but I did have someone come and assess my entire house and suggest any improvements we should make; i.e., insulations, replace some of the wiring and new windows, etc. We have done most of them.

Have you had an energy audit?
No, but I would like one. I believe we use more electricity than makes sense, an audit might help understand why. Gas is reasonable.

Don't know how or where to get one, tried the power company and they were no help. Just sent us to some websites that had obvious things to look for.

I would be willing to pay something, if I could find a good auditor.

There are companies out there that do it for a fee.
Good Luck..keep searching!

To be a member here, you have to have years of life's experiences,
this qualifies you to be your own energy auditor!

Insulation, double glazed windows, no holes around door & window
frames, check when your wiring was last changed, 15+ years in the
UK and most of Europe, 25+ in the USA.

Mike.
