Home Made Hummus...sort of

My husband and I both like hummus, and he suggested I try making it myself. I was agreeable, and have found recipes. But, in the mean time, I bought a package if Bush's Hummus Made Simple. It is a flavoring packet, which you just mix with a can of garbanzos and mash it up. Just made a batch and it actually turned out pretty darn good. I would buy the package again, but still plan to try to make it from scratch some time


ps: My husband absolutely refuses to eat garbanzos in his salad, but will eat hummus all day long. Go figure.

When I do find one I like, I will share it. This package is kind of close to home made...you are mixing the seasoning with the garbanzos and can create the consistency you want. I can tell the difference between this and store bought.

I don't buy anything in boxes or packages...don't ask me why. I don't really know

It's very easy to make. The biggest effort required is skinning the chickpeas to make it extra smooth.
