Homeowners: What do you pay for a termite bond ??

I just got an email today from Terminix.
My termite bond coverage is going up to $457 when due 01MAR26
For 2025, the cost was $395.

I only have termite coverage with Terminix.
All other pest control, I handle myself.

$457 seems high to me just for termite coverage.
What do you pay for a termite bond on your home ?? Thanks :)

I've had Terminix about eight years and around the house and storage shed (with one yearly inspection) I've got 24 bait stations in the ground with with them and they tried to raise my yearly bill last year a little over $50.00 (to $380.00) and I called and raised hell and after telling them to keep my bill the same or come pull the baits out of the ground they kept the bill the same as the previous year...I'd be willing to bet that they are going to send me another bill for next year that has an increase and if so I'll be on the phone again.

@IKE ... I have about 12 bait stations like that. My home is small.
They put them in about 3-4 years ago and quit crawling around under the house.
My house was built in 1945 and is on a crawl space.
This past annual inspection revealed one bait station was empty and it was simply refilled.

At the time, I said, "Well termites are the only thing eating that bait. Maybe someone should crawl around under the house to look for signs of infestation." ... and nothing came of that. Bait station refilled and see ya next year I guess.

I've been with Terminix since I bought this house in 2006.
If I remember correctly, the termite bond was around $200 a year back then. So it's 2 1/2 times that now.

Also @IKE ... I think "Bait Station" is a misnomer. Terminix calls it that too.
I think something like "tattletale" would be closer to the purpose of the stations.
The stations don't attract termites. After all, don't think it would be wise to purposely attract termites near a home.
But if termites stumble across the stations they will certainly take the "bait".

I came here to see what this is. Guess it’s one of the advantages of living in cold, cold north that I didn’t know.

Hope you can negotiate a lower fee.
