Horrendous case of plot against Hollie Willoughby

I am much troubled and my heart chilled reading about this. I really feel for her, the thought of what that man was planning is appalling. I hope Hollie Willoughby can move on from this, once the man is imprisoned.

Yet such men must be many, on secret forums, discussing their sick fantasies. I imagine every beautiful, glamorous woman who has a high profile in television, films, in the entertainment industry must guard against awful possibilities. I remember reading about the extreme danger that Olivia Newton John faced at one time. It was a real emergency as a deranged murderous psychopath was targeting her. Good tight security saved her life.

What price fame?

I never heard of Hollie Willoughby, and had to google her name to even find out who she is. I don't think she is well-known in the U.S.

Unfortunately, a lot of celebrities seem to be targeted by these psychopaths. I think it's a risk they run by being so publicly visible. It's not only show business celebrities; British royalty and American political leaders seem to have the same problem. (At least, with royalty, the security protection goes with their position, they don't have to personally pay for it. At least, I don't think they do.)

It is interesting to speculate on whether anyone on the verge of fame has backed out because they are afraid of this kind of threat. I guess we'll never know, as publicity is the reason they backed out.

My brother coached Pop Warner football for kids about 8-9. He's not exactly a world famous guy, but he got death threats, his truck was vandalized, and trash was thrown on his lawn. When people started to follow his wife and kids around town, he had to quit coaching. And this was in a small town, where he knew everybody. The nut cases are out there.
That is so frightening. To think of people planning to harm you or your family.

I think so too. I remember a celeb I liked years ago said she always thought about getting shot in a crowd. It's part of their job almost.

well Holly Willoughby is a second rate Tv presenter, and very unpopular with the viewers.

However it would have been very frightening to learn Via an American undercover police office than a fat hermit was talking about his plans to abduct her..over the dark web

The fact he didn't even attempt it.. doesn't mean he might not have...

But nothing happened to Holly or her family ( her husband is her manager ) nor was there any attempt on her life.. so that's that.. the guy will get a lesson learned in prison as he should..I doubt very much if he will attempt anything like this again.

He bought the items and had intention. With a different accomplice he could certainly have gone ahead.Such people must never be under-estimated.

I cannot imagine terrified how Hollie and her family must have been. I don't actually like her much, but nobody deserves what that man was planning.

I read somewhere that most high profile stars have many many obsessed stalkers, especially around Hollywood. Very tight security is vital.

yes but he didn't.... he never approached her..never contacted her or anyone connected with her or her family....... so it wasn't ''Horrendous''....''woulda, coulda, shoulda ''... but he didn't... however they did right in arresting him because if he had thought of going any further then hopefully this prison sentence will prevent him ever thinking of it again..

You wouldn't' think people could get so worked up about an 8 year old's football game, but they do. That shows how bazar human emotions are. Now, if you're famous, you're a target. John Lennon.
so many famous people been killed or stalked by nutters.... Marvin Gaye...Sam Cooke.. Lennon of course...Versace , Lincoln.. and more ...

having worked in the Entertainment industry I can tell you that every day there are Autograph hunters waiting at the gates hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite .. some of them look terrifying tbh.. most of them don't look like they are a full shilling...

Hollie who? Never heard of her. What I don't like is that this man brings shame on fat men. They already have enough problems.

Reminds me of the Rebecca Schaeffer case, only she wasn't so lucky. Her stalker killed her with a .357 magnum and one shot to the chest. I was an assistant U.S. Attorney at that time and sat in on that case. Robert Bardo was the shooter. He had rang her apartment bell and she answered the door. He scolded her for appearing in a sex scene on TV. After he left, he went to a diner and then went back a second time and told her that he forgot to give her something and that's when he pulled the gun and shot her in the chest. Bardo was a psycho. He was sentenced to life with no parole.

I tried a case for the U.S. Government against a known Lieutenant with one of New York's crime families. I was trying him for different counts, including Extortion, illegal gambling, Human Trafficking and Murder for hire. The RICO Act was also included. There were three U.S. Attorneys trying this case for the U.S. Government through the DOJ.
