horrors... no dry sherry

making a paella from a Christopher Kimball "Milk Street" recipe on PBS. it calls for half a cup of dry sherry... and i don't have it. i do have dry white wine. recipe has chicken in it. i'm imaging it won't be a fail with no alcohol at all, but thinking into future.

should i buy sherry? recommendations?
 
What the difference between dry sherry and wet sherry? I know little about cooking and nothing about alcohol. Good lord, why have I replied? 🤣
