Hot rods and detailing

Flames, pin striping, scalloping & muscle cars. All part of an era of cars that were part of my teen years.

Looking at all that were posted makes me feel sorry for teens now that don't have the car body shapes to make them special. I remember the throaty roar of Chevy 427 thru glass packs. Now it's a boxy little foreign car with an air foil on the trunk lid & the bumblebee whine of a 4 cylinder. I really feel lucky for some of my life experiences.

Absolutely. Not only were modified cars cool, sometimes the auto designers would be given a free hand and the results would stun you. No computer designed pods back then. Example... How about the dashboard on a 1954 Mercury. 😲 Or something like a classy 1960 Chrysler Imperial? Oh, be still my heart. ā¤

A lot of the newer cars have hardly any sound coming from them. One lady I work with...you can't even tell her hybrid is running. She didn't realize she didn't have it turned off and it ran all night.

Gary, I remember reading CARtoons back in the day. There was also another one we read called DRAGtoons, if I remember right. Wish I'd keep all those old comic books ..
