I'm a sarcastic cynical old fool so the issue of a PUB Crawl For Domestic
Abuse survivors just hit my brain as wrong, wrong,wrong in so many
ways!! I saw it featured on a local kansas city tv station web site....as a recovered alcoholic I am well aware of the problem of abuse within
a family where alcoholics are present.....so I sent them a online letter
about my thoughts...won''t hear anything back, but at least I complained..

Well, if Hope House and its residents and supporters are fine with it, that's good enough for me. The Crawl has been supporting Hope House for several years now.
Of course, they would be thrilled to get a donation from you, instead of participating in a pub crawl! Mail one of those instead

They couldn't come up with a better non-alcohol event for the Charity?

It does seem like they could have found a more wholesome family oriented activity to raise money and shine a light on their work.

It ruffles my feathers as well because it seems alcohol use can contribute to abuse, but...I have attended other types of fundraiser events in my life, some casual and some black tie affairs, and you know what? Almost every one of those events involved copious amounts of drinking.

So it doesn't seem to matter what the cause is, or if it's a pub crawl or banquet hall, people want to drink.
