How are you preparing to get older?

Well, I'm ready to go anytime, I would like to die in my own bed, without pain, all my friends are dead now , they died in Vietnam , the only friends I have are fair weather friends, I am a caregiver to my wife, who would go live with my daughter, who does not speak to me now, my sons are so so, my grandkids , they want me to pay them if they help me, nothing to look forward to but to get some rest, as far as money wife would get half my retirement , plus some insurance, we have some savings

We are garage sale nuts, go to every one we can find every summer. We buy things that we hope will make our old age easier. Bought crutches, walkers, canes, mobility scooters and a power chair. Our mobility scooters are a lot of fun too! Also have prepaid our cremations and updated our wills, power of attorneys, and living wills.. Now we are old (80 & 78) so we probably won't become any more disabled and may not even die if you believe in Murphy's Law which I do.

I'm not. It seems nothing plays out as I planned no matter what. So what happens will. I'm losing hope actually.

I'm trying to prepare to be physically fit for as long as possible. My goal is to run hard right up to the end, then pass quickly. Spending months/years barely able to do anything but take prescription drugs to cover up the pain and misery would be my idea of Hell.
